It must be love...

OK! So, because of some reasons I deleted my previous blog I created... and all along after that I've been thinking: 'Hey, I can always blog about other things and still be who I am, yeah?'

I like to read books and watch movies, so I thought, and have always thought of writing reviews about them. I think it's gonna be really exciting cuz I can feel the tingles of excitement running through my veins now!
Right, today I'll start with the book, 'It Must be Love' by Rachel Gibson. This is actually the second book by this wonderful author which I read. She's under the Little Black Dress books company and you can just tell what kind of genre this book is in just by reading the tag line: 'Pick up a Little Black Dress, it's a girl thing.' Romance is the word to describe the genre!

I think it's kind of nice to have a company like Little Black Dress which produce all the romantic novels for girls/women. I don't know about others, but I think the books suit me well. Currently, I own 3 of Little Black Dress books. 'It Must Be Love' is one of them. The next is Rachel Gibson's 'The Trouble With Valentine's Day' and the last is 'Hex and the Single Girl' by Valerie Frankel. Just to satisfy any creeping curiosity, I coloured the titles not only to highlight them but to show people how they are seen to me. The colours match the colours of the book covers.

'It Must Be Love' is a story revolving between two unlike individuals. Gabrielle Breedlove and Joe Shanahan. The former is an antique shop owner and the latter is a police detective. The story goes like this: Gabrielle's business partner, Kevin Carter was having his hands full on illegal selling of stolen antiques behind her back. Gabe, as Kevin calls her, was too trusting to believe this fact when the police told her about it. At first, the P.D suspected both Gabe and Kevin were involve in this case and had detective Shanahan to tail Gabe while maybe some other detectives went off to tail Kevin. Of course, Gabe noticed this stranger stalking her in the park when she went for morning jogs for the past week. She carried out a plan to nab this stalker and found out that he was actually a cop. He arrested her back to the police station for assault and for carrying an empty derringer. It was at that place when she knew about Kevin's case. Events moved on and detective Shanahan had to pose as Gabe's boyfriend to get close to Kevin as an undercover.

During that period of time as Joe was posing as Gabe's boyfriend, sparks of love shot through their hearts. They'd taken a liking for the other party but didn't admit it. The girl thinks he's not enlightened enough and the guy thinks she's crazy. But when Gabe was sure of her feelings for Joe when the case was near closing, he walked away from her! Like a chicken! He upset her and she left her town to her grandfather's with her mother and aunt Yolanda. Her heart did mend after a month. It also took Joe that amount of time to be sure of his feelings for her. They met again and he wanted her back but of course she walked away like he did, depriving him of what he wanted. However, he managed to coax her back into his arms with the Yin and Yang necklace. She had told him he was her Yang but he didn't understand it before, now he do. So it's a happy ending soon after. They were married and Gabe was preggers!!!

Isn't that what all girls hope to have in their life? For me(and maybe for many others as well), I wish for something really extraordinary and yet normal to happen to me and then voila, I have the love of my life beside me, forever! It's hard to explain what I'm wishing for and it's hard for it to happen. You can only think about it but it doesn't happen at all. Let's put it this way, I wish for a magical event to happen, which will then trigger a string of other events after it and then with a wink of the eye, I see myself in a cosy little home spending quality time with my husband. That's just about the typical type of romantic stories you read from novels. It's that simple, but will it ever drench on me?

It did drenched on Gabe though. She's a beautiful woman, 28 years of age. She concocts new aromatherapy oils and spa mask and believed in karma. Her quirky mindset scared the hell out of Joe, which added some cute humour in the book. Joe, a man 35 years of age is starting to get worried about not having a family of his own. He's strong and bulk, a hunk many women would die to possess. Haha! But not me...I don't go for such mature men. Joe is portrayed as stubborn and firm and his character is drafted pretty well. The entire story doesn't seem fake and absurd at all. Normal people in normal professions and in normal illegal deals but the whole seemed magical. It's like having someone up there preparing the next scene in your normal daily life with magic.(Yes! Magic!) I like the way Gibson can provide details on how detectives work in order to nab a criminal. She's an author but she is familiar with the police issues. It shows that she gathered the right guidelines. Come to think of it, she may have been watching all episodes of C.S.I, hence she's able to write stuffs about the law. :D Gibson had also slowly showed the progress of Gabe and Joe's relationship, leaving suspense to the reader now and then about whether or not they will be together. To spoil the fun, I actually guessed what will happen in the end cuz it's the typical type of romantic stories. Girl and guy fall in love, they had some qualms, parted for a while then got back together and get married. I'm not trying to say that the book is no good or whatever, if it's not good I wouldn't have bought it. Nearly forgot to add, I think Gabrielle Breedlove's name is kind of spun up to fit the story, ain't it? Breedlove, as in breed love. Breed the love around you!

I too, like Gabe, believe in Fate. It is Fate that brought her to Joe and vice versa. In my own life, it's the same. It's fate that brought me to my family and all my friends and I love them all. Hehe. So, will Fate give me a hand and land me in Team JJ's tennis squad as my CCA? Although I signed up for Photograhy, but Hope is in me. Hope is there telling me there is a chance for me to be in tennis, but will Fate bring at least 6 more girls with me to join it? I like photograhy too but it ain't the first choice and I will feel empty if unable to join tennis. Don't worry, whatever the outcome, Fate has it in its hands for us. If I landed in Photograhy or somewhere else, I will still have fun!
Until next time, with another book or movie review in my head, ciao!
